ABOUT US

Sunrise Energy was initiated in 2007 by Llitha Group Holdings (Pty) Ltd and was developed in partnership with the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC). The investment is a high development impact project. The terminal is expected to facilitate growth in the LPG market and reduced grid dependence in the domestic and light commercial sectors.

WHO WE ARE

Sunrise Energy operates the modern, efficient liquified petroleum gas (LPG) terminal at the Port of Saldanha under an exclusive concession granted by Transnet National Ports Authority (TNPA) in terms of Section 56 of the National Ports Act. It is a critical infrastructure asset for the region and key to energy security in the country, as well as economic development.

WHAT WE DO

Sunrise Energy has designed the Terminal in a modular manner to grow with the market over the next 30 years, under its concession from the government. The design includes room for expansion via Phases 2 and 3, which will ultimately enable Sunrise Energy to receive shipping parcels of up to 16,500 MT. This means that approximately 52,000 MT or more per month of LPG can be supplied to the market via the Sunrise Energy Import Terminal once the facility has been expanded to its full design capacity.
